About TCA

Trichloroacetic acid (TCA) is used as an intermediate to deep peeling agent in concentrations ranging from 20-50%. Depth of penetration is increased as concentration increases, with 50% TCA penetrating into the reticular dermis. Concentrations higher than 35% are not recommended because of the high risk of scarring.

Trichloroacetic acid peels:

*are preferred for darker-skinned patients over Phenol

*smooth out fine surface wrinkles

*remove superficial blemishes

*correct skin pigment problems

Trichloroacetic acid peels may:

*require pre-treatment with Retin-A or AHA creams

*require repeat treatment to maintain results

*require the use of sunblock for several months (this is a must)

*take several days to heal depending on the peel depth

SAFETY NOTICE:

ALWAYS TEST A SMALL AMOUNT OF TCA ON YOUR SKIN BEFORE APPLYING A LARGE AMOUNT OR PERFORMING A SKIN PEEL. SOME INDIVIDUALS HAVE AN ALERGIC REACTION TO THIS CHEMICAL AND/OR RESPOND DIFFERENTLY TO VARIOUS CONCENTRATION LEVELS.

Catherine Martin says:

Im not sure this is what it is advertised to be I received the item 1 day earlier than expected. This is supposed to be 100% TCA, but the chemical is in a plastic squirt bottle while labs know that TCA is supposed to be stored in glass bottles. The label is plain and uneven, like someone printed it off the computer and just stuck it on the bottle. Finally, it is not sealed properly as someone used cheap cellophane or shrinkwrap to encase the plastic bottle. This review is only concerning the shipment as this unprofessional shipment is making me to wary to actually use the product. It could be exactly what it is supposed to be, or it could be water or some other unknown substance. I only received this item today and intend to investigate the contents before jumping to any conclusions. I promise to post something once I have a better idea as to what is in this bottle. P.S. they did send a plastic pippit with the order.
